Temperature of water

Thermocline (measure density of water at different heights/depth and temperature of water at different heights/depth. Then compare these to see if there are relationship between these. This have to be done before it gets windy in the afternoon, so have to be done during early morning)

method:
  • get an object that floats on the lake
  • set a point on the lake that the object will be placed
  • set the object. at the same time, starting measuring the time with the stopwatch.
  • measure until the object moves about a meter (the distance is measure with a 1m stick ruler or a tape ruler.)
  • repeat step 2~4 4 more times.
  • set another point for the object to be placed. (ex. to compare the data collected, measure from the outer side of the lake to the inner side.)
  • repeat step 3~4 4 more times.
  • repeat step 6~7 3 more times.


equipment:
  • a floating object (may be a light plastic ball)
  • a 1m stick ruler
  • a tape ruler
  • a stopwatch
  • a pen
  • a paper
